We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unity 2D Artist to join our mobile games studio. As a Game Artist, you will play a critical role in creating captivating characters and immersive environments, as well as actively participating in the design and ideation.

As a founding member of our team, you will directly contribute and benefit from our company's successes. Banjo Games consists of industry experts backed by some of the most prominent investors in the mobile gaming space.

Responsibilities

• Creating and designing unique and captivating 2D characters, environments, and assets for mobile games
• Animating characters and other elements to bring our mobile games to life.
• Collaborating with the design team to conceptualize and iterate on art styles, ensuring a consistent visual direction throughout the game.
• Creating and implementing visually appealing particle effects, animations, and visual effects to enhance the gameplay experience.
• Optimize and maintain the art pipeline and workflow to improve efficiency and streamline the art production process.
• Working closely with the game design team to understand and execute on their vision.

Requirements

• A love for gaming, and preferably experience as a mobile player.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating high-quality 2D assets for mobile games.
• 5+ years of experience in the gaming industry
• In-depth knowledge of Unity and its rendering capabilities.
• Strong understanding of game art principles, including composition, colour theory, lighting, and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating optimized assets for mobile platforms, considering performance limitations and memory constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
• Shipped a top-charting mobile game.
• Understanding of the relationship between art and marketability within the mobile space.
